Guest- Editor Eli Hatleskog describes how at Reading University, the Department of Architecture's Mapping Eco Social Assets (MESA) strategies have provoked ideas for improvements to the city, but have also stressed the importance of focal buildings such as schools and places of worship that generate community cohesion.
